College Fishing Team Saved By Life Jacket and Kill Switch

by Steve Poole on May 2, 2017

During Saturday’s FLW College Fishing tournament, two members of University of Florida’s bass fishing team got into a harrowing boat accident. While riding the water at 57 miles per hour, Hunter Bland and Conner Young’s boat had a steering part failure, which caused both men to fly out. Thankfully, no one was hurt, and the team credited FLW for requiring all teams to wear life jackets and use kill switches. Had it not been for the kill switch, the engine and propeller would have continued to run, putting them in more danger.
